Landscape Photography Prints for Sale

WINTER WONDERLANDS fine art photography collection captures the fascinating images of winter landscapes we see during the cold season. These images are available as winter fine art prints, and are produced on superior quality Lumachrome Acrylic or Chromaluxe Aluminum. Considering that best in class materials are used, the acrylic and metal print mediums render beautiful colors and detail and come in large format print sizes. Every print is sold as limited edition only and is accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.

Producing winter fine art prints can be quite challenging, yet very rewarding. Winter always presents difficulties and dangers for the landscape photographer, which are not there during the warmer months. For example, traveling is more difficult. Many locations, easily reachable during the summer, may not have winter access. Traveling by snowshoes or skis is often an obvious choice for me, as a Colorado nature photographer. On some rare occasions I have hiked during the dark, in order to be at a certain location by sunrise.

Another challenge can be the cold weather. First, this necessitates that the photographer brings extra clothes and supplies, making traveling on foot more demanding. In addition, having to stand and wait in very cold weather, for the light to turn perfect before taking the picture, takes both patience and endurance. On many occasions I have done pushups or squats to keep my blood flowing and my body warm, while waiting for the sunrise. In those moments you cannot really operate the camera with thick gloves or mittens. For this reason, when the time comes to shoot the scene, you have to strip down to thinner gloves. They are much better than bare hands in the cold, but their protection is also very limited. I have been in situations when my hands and fingers go beyond feeling of cold. They just plain hurt from the freezing temperature, but that is part of fine art nature photography.

Despite all of this, there is no comparison to being out in nature on a cold winter morning and witnessing the beginning of a new day. Some claim that sunset colors usually are “more brilliant” than those of the sunrise. However, I have seen sunrises when the colors have been so intense and the scene has been so stunning, that I have become breathless. Most people are not out in the mountains, witnessing a sunrise, on a winter morning. It is not something people usually do. Therefore, the experience is quite unique. As a fine art landscape photographer, I generally have the moment to myself, which is rather special. Again, capturing and producing winter fine art prints can be demanding. However, despite the challenges, I experience some very special moments in these winter wonderlands.
