Wildflowers, Norway
Beautiful wildflowers decorate a hillside in Northern Norway. They bloom right on the shore of a huge sea fjord. On the other end, stunning mountain peaks rise above the water. Their bases are carpeted with greenery. On their left a thin waterfall slices the terrain as it pours water into the sea.The blue skies are patterned with long clouds, adding dimension to this majestic landscape. What a blend of color and nature, which is hard to take your eyes off.
As an artist I initially struggled with the best composition of this photograph. I wanted to truly portray the blended view of wildflowers, sea water, mountains, and sky, which are typical for Norway. In order to recreate the visual experience I decided to get really close to the flowers. I went right up to them when I realized that they were up to my chest high. Had they been slightly higher, they would have blocked my view. The fact that the camera was pointed on a slight downward slope also worked in my favor. In the end I was very pleased with the final result of this picture.
