An ocean pier provides a calm mood with its solid presence, amidst the restless turquoise water which splashes against the sand beach with foamy waves. The day is well on its way as the rising sun pierces the thick sky cover, adding to the drama of this panoramic seascape. God’s handiwork is seen in this mix of balance and symmetry. Cool colors and tones intermixed with warm ones. Motion of water, clouds, and light against the still concrete structure. Symmetry of water and sky and an ocean pier through the middle of this panorama.
This image was extremely difficult to capture. It is a composite of 5 overlapping shots, which made putting this work of art together all the more challenging. The camera tripod had to be positioned perfectly. The shots had to be timed well, as the waves kept coming and going. The camera settings had to be dialed in, to the light properly in such contrasty conditions. The focus had to be set just right to get the details of the scene. In the end, this photograph came out better than I had expected or hoped for.
