Mt Rainier Reflection | Washington

This photograph presents a moment of stillness at sunrise, featuring the majestic Mt Rainier with its reflection in a calm, mirror-like lake. The soul of this image is the iconic snow-capped mountain rising above the landscape on a summer morning.

As your eyes wander through the composition, they are greeted by the reflective surface of the lake in the foreground, acting as a canvas for the scenery above. This mirror reveals a symmetrical reflection, bringing a harmonious balance to the scene.

Behind this tranquil waterbody, the snow-covered Mt Rainier glows intensely under the morning sunlight. The peak is beautifully framed by a variety of evergreens, including spruce and pine trees lining the shore. These trees, faithful guardians of the mountain, reflect in the lake’s surface as well, creating a perfect blend of color and texture.

Above, the sky is painted in a clear blue color, embodying the promise of a new day. Low clouds and mist weave above the trees, adding a mystical quality to the landscape. The vapors rising from the lake surface contribute to this special moment, suggesting the awakening of nature.

“Rainier Reflections” is a celebration of nature’s quiet moments, a reminder of the stillness and beauty that awaits in the wilderness. This fine art print is an invitation to bring the tranquility and majesty of Mt Rainier into your home or office. Perfect for collectors and enthusiasts of high-end fine art landscape prints, this image will transform any space.

PHOTOGRAPHER’S PERSONAL NOTE
Yet another photograph associated with a 4am wake-up alarm, driving 2.5 hours from Seattle, racing for the sunrise and being in the right place at the right time. Having just come from Montana where I got up very early several days in a row, I had already accumulated body fatigue. Nevertheless, it was important to me to take a shot at capturing a Mt Rainier reflection. This was my second visit to Mt Rainier National Park and the previous time had been exactly 20 years before that. Therefore, having been so close (in Seattle), it was important to me to visit again.

Despite checking all the weather reports it was hard to know exactly what the weather and lighting conditions would be at sunrise. However, I did not expect to be greeted with a dense fog when I arrived at my location. Turning around and going back meant no photograph for sure. So, I decided to pull out the camera and wait in hope that the fog would lift.

I kept looking at my watch. The sun had already risen but there was no trace of it. The fog was quite heavy and seemed to remain in place. I grew somewhat disappointed and frustrated at the same time. In such moments all types of calculations run through my head, trying to figure out if an opportunity for a good shot would still present itself. I knew that ultimately it would be a sunny day, but if it took too long for the fog to move, that meant the sun would be high above the horizon, diminishing any chance for a quality photograph.

And then it started. Brightness began appearing from the east and the first sun rays gradually broke through the thick fog. However, there was no sight of Mt Rainier. I really wanted a view of the mountain, reflected in the lake water, while some fog still remained in sight. So I started watching very intensely, camera ready, waiting for the right moment where I could capture both mountain and fog.

The result is what you see in the image. It did turn out to be a gorgeous morning after all and I cherished my time with this great mountain and park, 20 years later.

Acrylic - TruLife® LumaChrome Prints - ready to hang

This is the absolute highest luxury, museum quality product in fine art printmaking on the market today. Acrylic prints boast a tremendous range of vivid and bright colors, incredible sharpness and clarity, and an anti-reflective acrylic surface.
