Fall Colors Mountain Panorama | Colorado
Two hours of hiking in the dark brought me to a magical fall colors mountain panorama. Although I had passed through this area for more than a decade, I had never ventured to go up from the valley below. Before this hike I anticipated that some views would open up. However, I did not know what to expect exactly. Looking up at mountains when your vantage point is low is very different from the reverse. The two sceneries can appear vastly different.
My entire climb was on a trail going through a dense forest. Towards the end I decided to get off the path and explore, in the search of a high enough point, which would allow me to see above the trees. When I arrived here and looked back towards where I had come from I could not believe the eyes. I knew the aspen forest in the valley below was big. That said, after more than a decade, it was the very first time I laid my eyes on it from a high altitude. It was simply massive and stunning.
