A panoramic abstract of a big canyon wall with yellow, orange, and pink colors, Yellowstone National Park

Grand Canyon of Yellowstone National Park
A gigantic natural wall mural reveals the colors and beauty of Godโ€™s work on a sidewall in the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone. Streaks of whites, yellows, pinks, oranges and reds decorate these steep slopes, sprinkled with jagged cliffs. A few evergreen trees dot the landscape and gently remind of their unique ability to thrive in tough conditions.

The unique color seen here is in a part of Yellowstone National Park that few venture into. Although my time there was short I was blessed with views, shapes and colors that captivate. Look closely into this fine art landscape. Then notice two things. First, the immensity of it, which you can tell by spotting a tree. Second, pay attention to the rich variety of pastel colors, tones and hues gracing the scene. Observe that in one photographic artwork you can see black, red, variations of pink, orange, and yellow, as well as white.

The colors of Yellowstone captured the heart of 19th century painter Thomas Moran. He joined the Hayden Geological Survey of 1871 in order to visually document the expedition. While his artwork helped inspire Congress to establish Yellowstone as the first national park, he himself was inspired by the regionโ€™s natural beauty. It is no surprise that he exclaimed about the Grand Canyon of Yellowstone: โ€œthat these beautiful tints were beyond the reach of human artโ€.

The color variety in Yellowstone, as seen in this panoramic photograph, is quite abundant. These rocks are rich in iron, which is the main reason for all the yellow colors. However, the remaining colors are a result of two factors. One, chemical alterations to the iron compounds caused by geyser activity, and referred to as โ€œcooking of the rockโ€. Two, continual exposure to the elements. As a result, these processes have had a rusting effect on the canyon walls, as the rocks are oxidizing and changing colors.

FINE ART PRINTS FOR SALE

Print Mediums

Acrylic - TruLifeยฎ LumaChrome Prints - ready to hang

This is the absolute highest luxury, museum quality product in fine art printmaking on the market today. Acrylic prints boast a tremendous range of vivid and bright colors, incredible sharpness and clarity, and an anti-reflective acrylic surface. Put together, these qualities result in an almost 3D looking showpiece, which immediately captivates and impresses the viewer. TruLifeยฎ acrylic prints are a fully finished wall art product, ready to be hung on your wall.

Lumachrome acrylic fine art prints reflect light with amazing luminescence due to the Iridium metal particles used in the print inks. Because of this, these museum quality prints appear as if they are lit from behind. In addition, the colors are amazingly vibrant and well saturated, while the dark areas maintain great detail. Furthermore, I use the anti-reflection, scratch resistant, and UV protective TruLifeยฎ acrylic as a standard on my limited edition prints.

Metal - ChromaLuxe Prints - ready to hang

Metal prints are a paperless fine art photographic product. The inks are directly infused and sealed onto an aluminum sheet, in order to produce this gallery quality, luxury artwork. ChromaLuxe metal prints result in a stunning, high-gloss fine art image, with bright and saturated colors. Metal prints have incredible image quality, archival properties, and physical durability.

Research has shown that ChromaLuxe metal prints will outlast, by three times, silver-halide photographic paper prints. Besides, metal prints are a remarkable high definition product, delivering high quality at a slightly lower price, compared to acrylic prints.
