Aspen Forest Cathedral | Colorado
Standing in this spot with my tripod and camera I could not help but feel as if I was inside a majestic aspen forest cathedral. Hours before I had hiked through this exact same spot. However, that was in darkness and going the other direction, as I had headed towards the high country in order to shoot the sunrise. Later, on my way back, the trail passed through what you see in this image. I saw this magical spot for the first time and was immediately stopped in my tracks. I found it very special because of its structure and charm. A large opening in the forest, completely surrounded by aspen tree walls. All the leaves were beaming with bright fall colors at their peak. And to top it off, the looming mountains in the distance finalized this amazing vista.
