Having experienced nature’s beauty firsthand is one thing. Having that beauty brought inside your home is something different. I believe that my fine art prints do bring nature inside your home. They are fine art photography windows to nature, giving you the opportunity to enjoy a landscape view, long after it has disappeared. Find out why Gintchin Fine Art windows to nature can give you the experience of looking at a beautiful landscape as if you are there.
As a landscape nature photographer I am often out with my camera, capturing very short-lived moments of beauty. In my case most of those experiences last about 3-5 minutes, and then they are gone. A great example of that is my image Perfect Five, where 5 different elements culminated, before I pressed the camera shutter.
Whenever I witness a beautiful outdoors scene, even if my purpose is not photography, I get an innate urge to capture that moment. This is something that has lived inside me for a long time and is a primary factor as to why I am drawn to fine art nature photography.
I remember going for an evening walk with my family one summer evening. Living in the Front Range of the Colorado Rocky Mountains, I have witnessed many spectacular sunsets. However, that evening I was not prepared for what was about to unfold. The clouds in the sky changed into colors that I had never before, or since, seen. The amount of orange, red and purple was astounding. This may have been the most amazing sunset I have ever seen in my life. Regrettably, my camera was not with me and I can only talk or write about it now.
Many people do not get to visit beautiful places, nor do live near one. For this reason I am very thankful to call Colorado home. However, even if you live in a place like Colorado, you still have to get out and witness the natural splendor. For example, many Colorado residents do not witness the incredible Fall color display, because they do not make it a point to go in the mountains in the Fall.
While making the effort to go out in nature is a prerequisite, in order to witness its beauty, the timing is important as well. The cliche very much holds true in fine art nature photography – “being at the right place at the right time” is crucial. Again, if we are pursuing a moment which lasts only minutes, timing is of critical importance.
Yes, the Fall colors can last for a good 2 weeks. However, they look differently even throughout the same day. The critical element here is light. It is of tremendous importance to the fine art nature photographer. Given that, I would argue that the majority of special moments in nature happen around sunrise or sunset. Usually, most people are not outdoors during those times. Consequently, most people do not get to witness these scenes, which as a landscape photographer I get to see.
Therefore, in my mind the next best thing to being there and seeing it with your eyes, is to see it in a photograph. I capture the moment with my camera and reproduce it on a print, as best as I can. Then people who buy my fine art landscape prints can experience a part of what I experienced, while capturing the photo. While they only experience a representation of the real scene, they get to enjoy the view for a very long time.
In my opinion, in order for an art owner to truly experience a representation of the real scene, 3 photography components must come together:
In summary, when you stand in front of an amazing, gallery-worthy fine art print, which is 90 or 120 inches across, then the photography magic happens. When all of the 3 components above have come together in the final product, you can hang this amazing piece of high quality photographic art on your wall, and get a real sense of what I saw while photographing it.
When I am able to create this product and experience, I believe I have created a Window to Nature for my customer. The size and detail of the print allow the viewer to immerse one’s self in the image. Then he/she can get a feeling of looking at the real landscape view. This is what I am passionate about and what I specialize in, as a fine art nature photographer. This is what I want all of my customers to experience, when they purchase my nature photography prints. I want them to feel as if my art has brought a piece of nature into their home or office. I want them to feel as if they are looking through a real window, out into nature’s magnificence.
I am honored that you have decided to spend time on my fine art website. All of my limited edition nature photographs are for sale and available in my landscape online galleries. Feel free to look and find the Window to Nature that you like best. Also, please do not hesitate to contact me with any questions.
