PERSONAL NOTE
I consider this my best photograph of my 2023 fall colors trip. It is special to me because so many elements came together in a brief moment and by God’s grace I was in the right place at the right time. My idea that evening was completely different. I had heard of a special spot, which gives you a different view of the mountains. However, I did not know its exact location, and at the time of this writing I still don’t know it. I only knew of its general proximity and I knew which mountains it gave view to.
After driving back and forth for over an hour and scouting multiple times, I could not find it. Knowing that the sunset appointed time was approaching fast I decided to move on and go to a place that I knew. That’s how I ended up in the spot where this image was photographed.
The afternoon had started with increasing cloud cover and byu the time sunset came it was fully cloudy. However, the magical light came through the clouds and set this landscape on fire. It was so incredibly beautiful that an image does not do it full justice. I have tried to capture it anyway and this is what yo get. Enjoy!
