Turquoise White Sand Beach | Lofoten, Norway
An abstract photograph of a turquoise water white sand beach in the Lofoten islands. A gentle stream of fresh water gently makes its way through the sand and into the Norwegian Sea. It actually comes from a mountain lake not too far from the beach.
This is the type of a landscape that I never expected to photograph in Norway. Prior to my trip there I did not know that one could find white sand beaches with turquoise water, something that is expected in a tropical setting, north of the arctic circle. What? What? Yes, read that again, it is not a typo. The arctic circle is located at 66° North and this beach is located at 68°. This is about 110 miles further north. Mind blowing!
