A lush green valley leads into a turquoise water laguna in the Lofoten islands. A white sand beach spans the width of the valley and creates a serene view on this beautiful morning. The dark mountain side walls of the valley create mystery while the valley floor is brightly lit by the morning sun. Several RVs line up behind this amazing beach to claim a spot on this limited and coveted space. Behind them a small and old cemetery quietly blends with the landscape.
This is one of those photographs that I cannot plan as a nature photographer. It was taken from a ridge, on the way to a mountain top. My goal was to get to the summit and photograph from there. However, when I saw the magic light gracefully lighting the valley and framing it in shadows at the same time, I had to pause and capture this amazing view.
