A golden leaf covered path leads gently deep into the aspen forest, as evergreen trees greet invitingly at this breathtaking gateway. The presence of fall is everywhere as the colorful leaves decorate the entire landscape. The timing is perfect on this peak fall color season infused with vibrant foliage.
Aspen and evergreen trees seem to be of equal proportions in this nature scene. In my experience this is not common. Normally, aspens grow in groups and one would almost never see just a single, lone aspen growing by itself. Therefore, one or a few aspens are rarely found inside a pine forest. On the other hand, lone, single spruces inside an aspen forest is something I regularly observe in the mountains. Notice however, that in this image it is neither of those situations, which makes this view quite unique.
Another unique feature is the fact that aspen leaves carpet the ground and decorate the evergreens, while there are still plenty of them on the tree branches. There is no shortage of fall colors, which contributes to a majestic forest scene. Whenever I see yellow aspen leaves caught in the green branches of spruce trees, it always reminds me of Christmas. What a special sight that is. How God adorns one tree with the leaves of another, while they die and glow with brilliance. It is mind boggling to me.
