Moonlight Dreaming
$2500 – $3900
Stars & Moonlight | Crested Butte, Colorado
Under moonlight and stars this old Colorado house is sleeping. It is a reminder of the past. As if the last inhabitants suddenly left a long time ago, it holds on and keeps standing. It is a fine artist’s jewel, positioned at the base of Whetstone Mountain.
Have you ever looked at the stars in the Rocky Mountains, or looked at the Colorado peaks under moonlight? I have had this privilege on many occasions. It is fascinating how much more one can see in the night sky without any light pollution. Although the moon appears quite bright in the image, it was not a full moon. This is the reason why so many stars are still visible in the sky. Believe it or not, the moonlight can also create light pollution especially during a full moon.
Night photography is very different from capturing images in daylight. The approach is quite different, not only in the field, but also in image post processing. The post process of Moonlight Dreaming was quite difficult. My estimate is that I spent at least 40 hours on it, in an effort to bring all the tones and details of the image. I must say that the hard work was worth it. This art piece has been a best seller for me.
Shooting under the Colorado stars and moonlight presented two complexities. One, the light intensity is tremendously less in comparison to even the golden or blue hours. This requires long exposures in order to capture all the details in the nature scene. Two, both the moon and the stars are moving, in respect to the subject/s on the ground. For this reason I often have to take two images and then blend them. One image is shot just before full darkness in order to ensure all ground subjects are captured. The other is taken during full darkness in order to reveal all the details in the night sky. This is a difficult effort but the end result can be a spectacular masterpiece on both acrylic and metal.
This is the absolute highest luxury, museum quality product in fine art printmaking on the market today. Acrylic prints boast a tremendous range of vivid and bright colors, incredible sharpness and clarity, and an anti-reflective acrylic surface. Put together, these qualities result in an almost 3D looking showpiece, which immediately captivates and impresses the viewer. TruLife® acrylic prints are a fully finished wall art product, ready to be hung on your wall.
Lumachrome acrylic fine art prints reflect light with amazing luminescence due to the Iridium metal particles used in the print inks. Because of this, these museum quality prints appear as if they are lit from behind. In addition, the colors are amazingly vibrant and well saturated, while the dark areas maintain great detail. Furthermore, I use the anti-reflection, scratch resistant, and UV protective TruLife® acrylic as a standard on my limited edition prints.
Metal prints are a paperless fine art photographic product. The inks are directly infused and sealed onto an aluminum sheet, in order to produce this gallery quality, luxury artwork. ChromaLuxe metal prints result in a stunning, high-gloss fine art image, with bright and saturated colors. Metal prints have incredible image quality, archival properties, and physical durability.
Research has shown that ChromaLuxe metal prints will outlast, by three times, silver-halide photographic paper prints. Besides, metal prints are a remarkable high definition product, delivering high quality at a slightly lower price, compared to acrylic prints.
Large format print sizes with great quality are available for your interior. As a landscape nature photographer, I pride myself on being able to produce huge prints with sharpness and detail. Although prints are available in custom sizes, my typical dimensions are: PANORAMIC – 20×60, 30×90, 40×120 and STANDARD – 30×45, 40×60, 48×72. You can learn the difference between panoramic and standard prints on my print sizes page. There you will also find visualization tools to help you see how different size large format prints fit inside a home decor.
When you purchase LImited Edition Gintchin Fine Art prints I will personally mail you (separately from the image) a Certificate of Authenticity, guaranteeing the identity and edition number of your new art piece.
In addition, all of my Limited Edition prints come signed, as well as indicate the print edition number. That way, the edition number on the print matches the one on your Certificate of Authenticity.
