Fall Color Aspen Forest | Colorado
One of my favorite moments of this fall color nature photography trip was this particular aspen forest. It was big and pretty as far as the eyes could see. However, in this image I wanted to capture a certain element of its texture, which reminded me of the ocean. Notice the three layers of trees here. The one closest resembles the crashing waves of an ocean with a rocky shore, look a little further and notice the next wave following closely behind. Look yet a little further and see the rising of a third wave, which will soon grow to the height of its predecessors. Yes, it is a strange thing to equate a fall color aspen forest with ocean waves. Nevertheless, that is one of the beauty of large tree forests. The beautiful patterns that they create can stir the imagination in marvelous ways.
