An aspen tree grove emerges in a color explosion against the darker shaded background of a steep terrain. I came across this unique view after cresting the ridge of a mountain pass. Three hours of hiking into new, for me, territory yielded this small but charming group of golden aspens. The morning sun had just risen high above the mountains to shine down on the valley. And that is when these leaves came to life, bursting with colorful brightness. What a special sight that was and how grateful I was to have witnessed and photographed this delightful moment.
