A tiny village is nestled both at the foot of the mountains and at the edge of the shore in the Faroe Islands. It is so close to the ocean, yet fully protected because it sits on high ground. A spectacular piece of land which has the Atlantic in front, mountains on 3 sides, and a valley in the middle. How often do you come across such a charm? Not many places around the world offer this type of a natural setting. Yet in the Faroes this is very common.
I was driving down a steep hill when I came upon the view captured here. The entire scene opened up all of a sudden and I was immediately awe-struck. The combination of natural elements, the colors, the shapes, the sky – everything was just mesmerizing. But then to have a small community right there was amazing. The entire scene was absolutely peaceful and breathtaking. My goal was to really grasp the entire setting, both on land and in the ocean. A panoramic image was the perfect choice here.
