Yellow aspen leaves carpeted the entire trail on this particular morning. Overnight rain had poured a lot of moisture and the forest was entirely wet. It literally felt like walking on a wet golden carpet. And that is when I decided to pause and notice the beauty in a small and intimate scene. These leaves shine brightly, even on a cloudy day. They strongly contrast against the dark wet ground of the trail. The clear drops of water appear as jewel crystals on the yellow leaves’ surface. What marvelous formation of live artwork!
